  Welcome to Sing and Sign Glasgow South and South Lanarkshire

  

  I'm Shona and I run Sing and Sign Glasgow South and South Lanarkshire. I have two daughters, Maya and Emma, who were both Sing and Sign babies.

  
  

  We had great fun at the classes and I’m convinced it helped them become the communicative young ladies they are today. The joy you feel when your baby signs for the first time is amazing. I love helping other families experience this special moment.

  Terms

   

  We have three terms of 10-weeks per year (starting September, January and April). We also run taster / special events throughout the year (Christmas, Summer Holidays, etc).

  
  

  Class Stages

   

  Babes (from 6 weeks to 6 months)
  Our new pre-Stage 1 curriculum is a lovely, gentle music and sensory class with the emphasis on building a foundation for great communication. The class is relaxed, gives you lots of time face-to-face with baby, plenty of cuddle time and is the perfect place to begin your baby signing journey. 

  
  

  Stage 1 (from 6 months to 14 months)

  If this is your first term with us then your baby will get most out of class if 6 months or older at the start of term. This is because he/she will be (or is soon to be) sitting up, becoming more aware and ready to enjoy the music, toys, props and social aspects of class.

   

  If you have already completed one course of Sing and Sign then we recommend coming back for a second term. Repetition is key. There are well over 100 signs covered in Stage 1, so a second term really helps you remember them all and gives you the chance to see them in action at home! We especially recommend a second term if your baby is younger than 13/14 months. 

   

  Stage 2 (from 14 months to 2.5 years)

  If your baby is a little older, you may feel ready for a class with a little more action and activity. We have some lovely songs to enjoy, covering more advanced concepts such as the weather, colours, being helpful, simple counting, opposites and even beginning phonetic awareness, all enjoyed through our magic ingredient – music! There are also opportunities to move about more, and plenty of toys and props to keep your baby amused. 

  
  If you have never done Sing and Sign before, we would recommend you order the Stage 1 online course and practice with this for a few weeks at home before the Stage 2 class begins. This gives you a little time to build up some knowledge of our basic signs. You can order the online course from me (shona@singandsign.co.uk). If you don't want to cover Stage 1 at home, we still teach how to begin signing with your baby in our Stage 2 classes, so you'll soon be signing away!

   

  Classes last 45 minutes to 1 hour with teaching time of around 30-45 minutes and up to 15 minutes for questions and discussion or just a chat after.

   

  Class Fees

   

  Babes Venue-Based - £80 for a full 10-week course PLUS Babes membership to our online learning resources.

  Fee also includes access to @Home lessons covering our weekly themes and expert videos explaining our themes in more depth. 

   

  Stage 1 and 2 Venue-Based - £80 for a 10-week course PLUS Gold (S1) or Premium (S2) membership to our online learning resources.

  Fee also includes full access to our @Home lessons which will run alongside your weekly classes. Great for sharing with other family members or using when you can't make it to class. 

   

  Online - £50 for a 10-week course delivered via our popular @Home lessons.

  Fee includes Gold or Premium membership to our wider online learning resources.  Each week, your pre-recorded lesson can be streamed at a time to suit you and as often as you like within that week. Your classes are supported by email / text for any questions you may have and optional zoom calls at the beginning, middle and end of your course.
