  I'm a mother of three with a background in performing arts which saw me perform professionally in musical theatre all over Europe. I'm now settled back in Perth and own Inspire Dance Studios Limited in Perth. I have been teaching children now for over 18 years. 

  I first came across Sing and Sign when I took my first born to our local classes from age 3 months. Being able to communicate with my little one was so rewarding and we became hooked. Classes were great fun, not only from a social point of view but watching my child enjoy the music, learn signs, make friends. From about 16 months she was able to starting signing herself and it was wonderful being able to hold little conversations with my daughter and definitely helped ease her frustration being able to be understood.

  I took over the Sing & Sign franchise from the wonderful Katherine in 2018 and really enjoy continuing the legacy she built for baby signing. It's such an exciting time in these families lives and we are so lucky to be a part if it.

  WHICH STAGE?

  SING & SIGN "BABES" designed for babies from approximately 6 weeks old, is a wonderful introduction to baby signing and helps build a framework for good communication using our secret ingredient MUSIC!

  STAGE 1 is ideal for babies from 6 months old up to around 14-15 months.  Occasionally babies come when they are younger for specific reasons - if you're unsure, please don't hesitate to ask.  Maximum benefit can be gained by attending 2 terms of Stage 1.  It’s a great way to consolidate what you have learnt – you can “fill in the gaps” so to speak with vocabulary that may have seemed less relevant when your baby was a few months younger.

  STAGE 2 is great when your baby is 14+ months by which time many babies may be starting to talk as well as sign and the benefit of introducing new signs is that it helps your baby better understand and remember new and unfamiliar words.

   

  CLASS INFO

  Our classes are open to a maximum of 12 babies per class as we like to keep it small.  Classes are approximately 45 minutes in length (35 mins for BABES), although allow up to an hour as we like to have a natter after class so we don't chuck you out immediately!

  Terms last for between 10 and 12 weeks starting in January, April/May and August/September although this is subject to change on occasion.

  COST/PAYMENT

  Babes - from £7 per class including Songbook (10-12 weeks)

  Stages 1 & 2 - from £7 per class (10-12 weeks)

  Twins - only pay for one!  Triplets or more - we can arrange a discount!

  Please feel free to bring Daddy, Granny, Granddad etc along but please check with me first to avoid a rush of Grannies!

  WHAT ARE CLASSES LIKE?

  Our classes follow the same structure every week, which is something that the babies soon learn to recognise and respond to very positively.  It really helps them to know/anticipate what's going to happen next.  We introduce new signs each week which are repeated throughout the term so that you learn them more easily.  Babies (and sometimes parents and carers!) usually take 2-3 weeks to become familiar with the class structure and the teacher, after which they become increasingly confident and interactive as they learn what to expect.  We don't accept new enrollments after week 3 of the term, because the groups have settled and found their unique vibe and the new families often feel like they've missed too many classes and always feel like the newbies.  It's really great fun and we ensure that every baby is involved in the class.

  Yes!  If you have a friend/s with a baby who may be interested in attending our classes please ask them to book directly online.  Places are available only by booking in advance.

  Sing and Sign has an excellent Nursery Affiliation Programme which will train staff on their own premises at a time to suit all.  I will teach staff a selection of signs, tailor made to the nursery's individual requirements and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate.  Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources and a complementary package of products.
