  Welcome to one of the longest established Sing and Sign franchises!  I am now in my 21st year teaching mums and dads (and grandmas, aunties, etc!) to sign with their babies and toddlers.

  I didn't discover baby signing until I had my second child, Thomas.   The whole family got so much joy out of our early communication with him.  His first consistent sign was 'milk' at 9 months, and at about 12 months his signing really took off, with animal signs being his favourites! But it was the influence on social skills like 'taking turns' with Jessie Cat that was invaluable!

  I was so in awe of the benefits of baby signing that I decided to give up my job as a Teacher of the Deaf and retrain so that more parents could share in this amazing experience. I taught my first class in Biggleswade on Thomas' first birthday! Since then I have added classes in Ampthill, Bedford, Sandy and St Neots.

  Babes 0 to 5/6m classes: £79   (moving on to Stage 1 in the following term)

  - 10 weekly 40 minute venue-based sessions using music, songs, rhymes and sensory play, alongside some basic signs, to encourage early understanding.

  - Developed in consultation with a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, the ‘Babes’ curriculum aims to help parents to provide experiences and interactions that will put in place the building blocks needed for effective early communication.  More rapid brain development takes place in this first 6 months than at any other time and ‘Babes’ will give you lots of ideas of how to embrace this magical ‘critical period’. We teach in small groups where we can focus on you and your baby as you build your most important relationship.

• Nurseries

  Take a NAP with a difference!

  Sing and Sign franchisees offer training to local nurseries through the Nursery Affiliation Programme or NAP!  We will train staff on their own premises at a time to suit them.  We teach staff a selection of signs, tailor-made to the nursery's individual requirements and design an Individual Action Plan to inspire staff and make signing fun and easy to incorporate in their day-to-day activities.

  Following training, the nursery will receive a Certificate of Sing and Sign Affiliation together with ongoing access to our signing resources and the licensing to use our copyrighted products.
